Biography

Hi! I'm Sam Cristol, and I teach 12th grade Humanities (Language Arts, Government, and Ethnic Studies). I will also be welcoming a 9th grade advisory this year. I joined the Cleveland staff in 2016 after receiving my Master's in Teaching from the University of Washington. As a product of Seattle Public Schools myself, I'm proud to serve our community and to get to work with the amazing seniors at CHS! I'm also a member of Cleveland's Racial Equity Team, advisor for the Literary Magazine, and a book nerd who loves playing drums, boxing, and spending time with my family. Ethnic Studies and anti-racism are at the center of my teaching practice.

,Personal Message

I know that distance learning and the twin pandemics of COVID-19 and systemic racism are very stressful, so PLEASE feel free to email me, text me on remind, or leave me voicemails as much as you want! I love to hear from students and families, and it really helps me to know more about where my students come from, what they want to learn, and where they want to go!

There is no such thing as too much communication, so I'd love to hear from you, even if it's just an email to say hello!
