Student-Led Conference Schedule & Information
Student Led Conferences are an important opportunity for students to share their goals (personal, academic, and career), academic progress, and projects they are proud of with their families. It’s also a key opportunity for you to get to know your student’s advisory teacher, who serves as your student’s primary support person and advocate for the duration of their time at Cleveland.
We believe in the importance of partnering with families to support student success, and we see SLCs as a critical opportunity for us to work together to help your student maximize their potential.
Please note: Cleveland will not have school on Wednesday, 11/26 (day before Thanksgiving) to allow for SLCs to take place.

What Are: Student-Led Conferences at Cleveland STEM HS
- Why: A chance for students to reflect on their learning and present to their family members about their progress, and a chance for family members, advisors, and teachers to work in partnership.
- What: Students create and lead a 20 minute Student-Led Conference with their family and Advisory teacher. Students should be the leading voice in this conference; if parents/guardians want to follow up with other teachers, the advisory teacher provides them with a CHS Directory and/or helps them communicate with teachers.
- How: Conferences can be in-person or virtual depending both on needs of the student and family in mind. Whenever possible, meeting in-person is highly encouraged as it is a powerful way to improve the connection and partnership between school and home.
- When: In November, at the convenience of advisor and family. Special SLC time is schedule during the week of Thanksgiving as well. Please note the adjusted Bell Schedule for students and staff to accommodate SLC’s.
