- You are eligible for financial aid for 150% of degree time, so 6 years for a 4-year degree.
- Time in college makes you more competitive for future job or graduate school applications.
- Job or grad school applications expect experience in addition to your degree.
- Like involvement in clubs, internships, research, etc. which takes time in college to get.
- Job or grad school applications require references or recommendations.
- Which are harder to get if you haven’t been in college long enough to develop relationships with professors.

Credit Transfer Possibilities
- Running Start is a Washington-specific program
- Other states may have similar “dual enrollment” or “dual credit” programs but they will not necessarily know the name “Running Start”
- Not all out-of-state colleges will accept your transfer credit
- The more selective the college, the less likely they are to accept your Running Start credit
- In Washington, not all courses transfer the same
- Check credit equivalencies before registering for classes to make sure your RS Courses will transfer the way you want them to transfer.

- Your Running Start and CIHS courses will be on your transcript the first day you start at a 4-year school.
