Explore College Options Together: Spring Break

Junior year families: We encourage families to begin exploring college options together. April Spring Break and the summer months are excellent times for juniors and their families to visit college campuses, as schedules tend to be more flexible and students can start learning about academic programs, campus life, and admissions before senior year. Many Washington State colleges offer guided tours, information sessions, and self‑guided visits throughout the spring and summer. Visiting campuses early can help students better understand what they are looking for in a college and feel more confident heading into the college application process.

Cleveland STEM School Counselors offer academic, career and personal/social support for students. This includes:

• Individual and small group counseling
• Classroom lessons
• Intervention for attendance and coursework issues
• Confidential referrals to outside agencies
• High school class registration and planning
• Class changes and waiver requests
• Summer courses guidance/ Credit Retrieval/ On-line courses for first time credit
• Post-high school planning through career and college guidance lessons in Naviance
• Student and Family Events
• Scholarship and financial aid information
• Serves on Student Intervention Team
• Serves on the College Career Leadership Institute
• Serves on the Building Leadership Team
