On Wednesday, November 3rd, we will be offering the Smarter Balanced Assessment and Washington Comprehensive Assessment of Science to grades 9, 11, and 12. Here is the testing schedule:

·       Testing for 9th, 11th, 12th Grade in ADVISORY

·       Late Arrival for 10th grade

10:45 am – 11:15 am:

·       LUNCH

11:20 am – 2:20 pm:

·       Continue Testing for 9th, 11th, 12 Grade in ADVISORY

·       Independent learning for 10th Grade in ADVISORY

Once students complete their tests, they are given the option to leave if guardian permission is granted prior to Wednesday. An electronic form can be found at: tinyurl.com/chs-excuse-early-sba

For many students testing is optional, but highly encouraged. Since the SBA was postponed for two years, students were not able to use these tests results to fulfill the graduation pathway for ELA or Math. As a result, there are a number of students who we are urging take these assessments. Their advisory teachers and counselors will be conferencing with them this week.

If you do not want your student to complete either tests, guardians will need to complete an opt out form prior to Wednesday: tinyurl.com/opting-out-of-sba If you have any questions about the SBA or WACAS, please contact our testing coordinator, Jenn Kekuna at jmkekuna@seattleschools.org.
