Hello, Cleveland Eagles!  This Wednesday May 29th and Thursday May 30th, many students will be taking the Math End Of Course exams, and all 10th graders and/or students enrolled in a Biology course will be taking a Biology End Of Course exam.  These exams are a part of Washington State graduation requirements.  For details about the exam requirements, please go to the Cleveland High School website, click on Academics, then on State Testing Information.

The schedule on the 29th and 30th will be different than usual. Testing students will arrive at the usual time—7:50 am.  Yellow bus and breakfast service will happen at the regular times.  Non-testing students will have late arrival—they don’t have to arrive until 11:00 a.m. If non-testing students arrive earlier than this, they must report to Building 2 for supervised study hall.

Students will know whether or not they need to take the test from their math or science teachers, or by checking the lists that will be posted on Tuesday, May 28.  All students should check these rosters, which will be posted in Buildings 1 and 2 near entrances, to see if they will be testing.  If there is a question about whether a student should take this test, please see Ms. Brown in room 1141.  Thank you, and Go Eagles!
Project 206
Monday, July 1st - Friday, August 9th, 2013

Project 206 is a 9th grade summer program focused on preparing students for high school through academic, hands-on service learning experiences. This program is in it’s 3rd year is a partnership between YMCA of Greater Seattle, Seattle Public Schools, City of Seattle and the Se- attle Youth Engagement Zone. We have designed this exciting summer program to be a fun, in- teractive, and academically and socially enriching, service-driven program for students entering 9th grade at Cleveland High School.
Program Details
Language Arts, Math Science and Eagles101 classes will be taught by certificated teachers and will focus on ensuring that students are ready to meet or exceed 9th grade curriculum standards. This focus is around the STEM program; STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, fields that are the underpinnings of modern life. The STEM Program at Cleveland High School will give students the opportunity for rigorous and advanced study in these subjects. The curriculum throughout the summer will be project-based, and students will participate in ser- vice learning projects that focus on important social issues. These activities will give students the opportunity to relate their current school experience to the world beyond. Participants will begin to set long-term goals for themselves and envision their lives after high school.
Upon successful completion of the program, which includes meeting minimum attendance re- quirements, students will earn:
